Last Sunday I went to a very pleasant event held at the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles called The Taste put on by the LA Times. Here you could wander around, tasting and sampling lots of delicious foods, desserts and drinks, and also see cooking demonstrations, meet lots of chefs and food lovers, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and generally have a wonderful time.
