The publicist for the soon to be opening film, The Happy Sad directed by Rodney Evans, was kind enough to send me a link to be able to watch this new film online. I finally got some time to do so last night, and it proved to be a sweet little movie exploring all manner of relationships: gay, straight, black, white, open, nontraditional. A quirky little movie, some with quite explicit scenes of intimacy. I predict more of these types of films, maybe not masterpieces, but of merit regardless, as the increase in independent film making continues, with the growing influence and ease of cloud funding, and as the cost of production goes down. And why not? There is room for all manner of motion pictures in the entertainment industry.
