Yesterday was another exciting day at Dances with Films festival in Hollywood. First, I attended an informative and very helpful panel called "Digital Explosion and Emerging Trends." The filmmaking world is changing so fast I find it very useful to get current information from experts in the field. Then I saw two very good films, the first an impressive drama in black and white called Efficiency starring the very talented cast including Beth Moline (pictured above) and writer/actor Steven Molony. Mr. Molony expertly plays a set of twins in the film, which is extremely difficult to do. He also wrote the film and helped produce it. Talented folks!
Lastly I very much enjoyed The Worst Year of My Life, a comedy/dramatic romantic tale of a man in love with the most selfish woman on the planet. Trevor St. John Davis did an excellent job as did the other cast members, and it was written and directed by Jonathan Smith. A very good film. Dances with Films continues on through Sunday, for more information visit danceswithfilms.com.
On another note, the excellent Playboy Jazz Festival is next weekend, June13th and 14th at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets and information are available at hollywoodbowl.com.
